Custom Design Floor Plans (A Standard Service We Provide)

The design process is the first stage of building your log home or office and is composed of four basic steps. These steps will help you understand the process of defining, documenting and then realizing your dream.
Step One - Understanding Your Dream At Jim Barna Log Systems At Lookout Mountain we first want to understand your vision for the perfect log home or office. We will then work to find an existing design that best meets this vision or begin a draft of a new design that captures your idea of perfection. We will work with you to fulfill your objectives of both budget and design features. Now close your eyes and dream. We will help you every step of the way.
Step Two - "Preliminary Needs" Plan Development Based upon those objectives, budget requirements, and special desires discovered during our initial design phase, a preliminary plan will be developed for your review and approval. This "draft" usually prompts several changes and modifications before we have a final draft that is exactly what you want. Take your time and let your creative mind work. We want the final design to meet and/or exceed all your expectations.
Step Three - Initial Budgets and Cost Estimates At this stage of the process, you and your personal design assistant will make sure the final plan is in alignment with all your objectives. Revisions or modifications can still be made at this point to make sure we are in alignment with your vision and your budget. Our goal is to give you the most accurate and detailed pricing for all the materials and services you select.
Step Four - Financial Plan and Cost Estimate After initial cost projections are determined and revisions and modifications made in the design, our staff will review with you the final plans and cost estimates for your Jim Barna materials package and our associated services. At this time, you will have a finalized blueprint, with an understanding of the exact floor plan, the dimensions of your new house, and the material and dry-in labor costs.
